Located in Sussex County, Delaware the town of Selbyville had a population of 2,520 in 2020. It was founded in 1778 and incorporated in 1902. Strawberries were grown and commercialized here in the 1840s. By 1918 Selbyville was the main supplier of strawberries on the east coast. It remains a small agricultural town to this day. Today farmers raise chickens and hogs and grow corn and soybeans. The farms and chicken processing plants are the main source of income for the farmers and residents of the town.
